If a bang is heard near the extractor when the entrance door opens after renovation, the fan may be blamed. In this hypothetical situation it also happens with the fan off, a backdraft damper is installed, and neither incoming air nor blade position was recorded simultaneously during the events.
If direct discharge into a shower drain is used to declare the whole shower sound, the conclusion may exceed the test. Suppose moisture appears behind a partition after showering, but floor-wall junctions and the enclosure were never wetted.
If spin acceleration causes vibration, drum damage may be suspected. Suppose a washer was moved onto timber flooring, only some loads provoke the complaint, and feet, transport locks and furniture contact were not documented after the move.
If an indoor air-conditioning unit starts dripping after several hours of cooling, either equipment failure or installation may be suspected. A short trial may reveal nothing, while part of the drain is concealed and its actual route is unknown.
If moisture appears on finishes after renovation, a combination of structural condition and altered ventilation may be involved. A normal instrument reading on the inspection day does not rule out earlier deviations.
A wall cabinet shifts: product, fixings and substrate need separating
If a wall cabinet shifts or pulls away, one overall photograph may not explain why. Questions may concern product design, supplied parts, actual fixings and the wall substrate. Several possible factors do not mean all are established or equally influential.
