Website focus: Multidisciplinary examination when one field is not enough. The specific objects, questions, materials and form of the result are agreed before work begins.
Appointment of an examination
An expert report is prepared as part of an examination commissioned by a court or another authorised body. The questions, objects, materials and procedural conditions are specified in the appointment document. When a party contacts us, competence, feasibility, necessary materials, cost and timeframe can be discussed in advance.
How it differs from a specialist opinion
A preliminary private examination and specialist opinion do not become a forensic expert report merely because of the document's title or payment for the service. When an examination is appointed, the applicable procedural rules are followed.
Preparing materials
- Provide the court order or appointment decision if it has already been issued.
- Check the list of questions and the availability of the objects to be examined.
- Report any previous examinations and access restrictions.
- Agree the arrangements for inspection and submission of materials in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
Substantiation of findings
The source data, methods, results and connection between the analysis and findings should make it possible to assess the validity of the answer. Insufficient materials or a question outside the scope of expertise must be taken into account when determining whether the examination is feasible.
